This exists for every kind of away — a deployment measured in months, a hospital room, a long-haul route, a ship with no signal, the work trip that lands on the wrong day. And the hardest kind: knowing you won't be there.
It exists just as much for the easy kinds — birthdays, first days, big games, ordinary Tuesdays. You choose the tone. Away Today protects it.
Make it today. It arrives when it matters.
Four ways to be there — whichever feels most like you.
See how it will work.
Every screen below is a working preview of the product we’re building. Nothing here is live, and nothing you type is saved. Click through the whole journey: choose someone, make a Moment, schedule it, and see what arrives.
In the real product, creating your account comes first — protecting a Moment comes before making one. The preview skips ahead to the good part.
Be among the first.
Leave your email and you'll get one message when Away Today opens — an invitation, first in line. Nothing else, ever. No reminders, no countdowns, no marketing.
The rules we're building under — written down before the first line of code.
Most companies write their values after the product. We wrote ours first, and we're building to them:
What you create is kept. Payment will only ever gate creating new Moments — never the keeping, the delivery, or the export of Moments you've already made.
What you schedule is delivered. A scheduled Moment is a promise, and we treat it like one.
What's yours is exportable. Downloading your own Moments will always be free.
Moments never expire. No countdown clocks, no use-it-or-lose-it. Ever.
No advertising. No selling data. Your Moments and your information are not a product. This is constitution, not policy.
"Delivered" is the only report. We'll confirm a Moment was handed over — and nothing else. What happens in someone's heart when they open it belongs to them.
Recipients stay in control. Anyone can decline and remove what's addressed to them, no account required, no questions asked.
One more rule governs this page itself: we publish only what we honor. Away Today is in development — so everything above is written as what it is: the constitution this company is being built to, not a claim about a service that exists yet. As each promise becomes operational fact, this page will say so plainly. And one thing a Moment will never claim to be: a will, a directive, or a legal instrument. Moments carry love, not law.
The things people actually asked us.
Before building anything, we asked people about the times they couldn't be there. Their hardest questions became this list — answered the way we'd answer across a table.
To the twelve people who answered hard questions first — about the times you couldn't be there, the things you've kept, and what it would take to trust anyone with something this personal: this page is largely written in your words. Thank you. You'll be among the first invited in.
